The collection consists of records of Albert C. Ulmer, Director of the Community Organization Project of the SRC from 1963-1967. The records reflect Ulmer's popularity among young people who were involved in community work in the South and his interest in organizing cooperatives. Includes correspondence, reports, and printed material relating to such projects as the Citizen's Crusade Against Poverty, the Grand Marie Vegetable Cooperative (Opelousas, La.), National Sharecroppers' Fund, the Selma Inter-Religious Project (Selma, Ala.), Cooperative Training Institute, the Pearl City Civic League (Boca Raton, Fla.), and the Neighborhood Foundation Project (Columbus, Ohio).
